Ngl, I kinda forgot about LJ

&Kalinda;
Hai! I've been incredibly busy recently, and the only time I've been online is while I'm at work, so Tumblr is so much easier because I can just reblog pretty things rather than having to write a comment. Yeah, I'm lazy. But I thought I would update, if anyone still cares.

I'm currently doing an internship at Songkick and I'm already a month in and I don't want to leave. :( They give me free food! There's a gig allowance (which is paying for my City and Colour ticket)! Half of the office are alcoholic hipsters and the other half are alcoholic computer geeks! I love them. ;____; I knew from the start that I would only be there for two months so I can't complain, but I really don't want to start looking for a job again. I'm hoping that someone from a record label comes to our office for a meeting and then decides to hang out so that I can network. Which isn't out of the realm of possibility, considering one of our new investors flew himself from California on his private jet and then went to the pub with us. It was pretty ridiculous. Oh, and you all should download our iPhone app because it'll tell you when your favourite bands are in town! :D? /shameless plug

Also, I went to London Pride yesterday with Jo and it was so much fun! Jo had to leave early, but not before falling in the middle of a restaurant and breaking two of their glasses. Now that I know she's not going to die from a head injury, I don't feel bad about laughing at how faily she is. :D But once she left I proceeded to get even more drunk with my new friends, flashed multiple people in the middle of Trafalgar Square, was motorboated by random gay guys who seemed fascinated by my boobs and met someone dressed as the Doctor! He had a sonic screwdriver and a fez and I fell a little bit in love. :D It was an amazing day and I can't wait to do it again next year! \o/

I'm out of my mind; think you can wait?

Florence & the Machine
Thank you to everyone that commented on my last post. The day after the accident my body seemed to remember that it had been hit by a car and hurt like hell, but I'm feeling much better now. I'm just annoyed that I can't really do anything for at least the next month, which is kind of a problem as my internship is only supposed to last for two months. There's no way I'll be able to travel to work by tube, and even if I can get a lift, Songkick is on the third floor and stairs really scare me at the moment. I really like this job, dammit! I got it because of my love of The West Wing! They're all music nerds! And I get free food and a gig allowance! ;____;

But at least I can catch up on my reading. I'm planning on rereading the first book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series before Game of Thrones starts in a couple of weeks. Anything else I should read?

I really don't recommend getting hit by a car

So. This was going to be a post about how I have an awesome job, and how I'm going to Belfast, seeing Panic and possibly Patrick Stump all in one week next month, but then I got hit by a car. The car was going pretty slowly so other than a fracture in one of the bones in my foot, I'm fine. I do have to wear a cast for 6-8 weeks, though, which going to suck. But it could have been worse.

...ow. :(

Lol latest

I have a tumblr! So let me know who you are on there and who else I should follow! I haven't posted anything yet because it's almost 1am and I want to sit down properly and figure out how to use it, but I will do soon.

Hi! February has been surprisingly great! There have been shenanigans with [info]jess_darkwater and hotel rooms (because it's us and there's always a hotel room involved), MCR, Sleigh Bells, my dad's gone to India for two weeks and now I have a job! It's only admin work and isn't a permanent position, but money! \o/ And I'm seeing Jo tomorrow so that she can feed me cupcakes and possibly subject me to a Band of Brothers marathon. I like the show but I'm not sure I can watch all of it in one sitting.

Because I have nothing better to do:

Leave a ONE WORD comment that you think best describes me. It can only be one word. No more than one word. Then copy & paste this post to your own journal (if you want to!) so I can leave a word about you.

Oh, and I'm sure everyone who's even vaguely connected to bandom has seen this, but still. VOTE FOR EMPIRES SO THAT THEY CAN FINALLY COME TO THE UK. ...And because this is a fantastic opportunity for them, of course. :D?

I'm the worst flister

1. Happy New Year!

2. It's my birthday! \o/ I got a pretty new Blackberry, which is awesome because I've had my old phone for yeeears and it's mostly dead. I might even get a twitter now. That is, if my friends stop mocking me and help me decide on a name. I don't appreciate their suggestions. >:(

3. ...Idk. My life's been pretty boring lately. I've just been hanging out with friends and going to shows, which is the usual for me. And I spent the majority of the holidays in bed with the flu, so yeah, I haven't done much. But I'll be seeing MCR (again) next month! \o/ And I might try catching Sleigh Bells when they come back to the UK.

4. This is a pointless post, but I felt bad because I hadn't updated for a few months. My bad. :\

5. I like lists. :D

Thanks to the fantastic [info]jess_darkwater, I'm going to see MCR in London next month! \o/ I can't wait! Lol my little brother turned 17 today (he's almost an adult! When the fuck did that happen? D:) and I think I'm more excited about MCR than his birthday. I'm the best sister. :D: But I love their new song; it's fun and ridiculous, which is exactly what I expected from them. I had to stop myself from dancing in the middle of the street while listening to it today. /o\

Who else is going to the London date? And does anyone need a ticket? [info]shiny_sly has a spare because even though Jess was buying our tickets, she wanted a backup just in case it sold out before Jess could get them.

Right, I think I've procrastinated enough. Time to go to the gym. :(

I was also told that I write like Douglas Adams, Earnest Hemingway and Dan Brown (I'm ignoring this one). So I guess my writing style is rather erratic.

The National were absolutely fantastic; both [info]jess_darkwater and I had a great time. We did take pictures, but Jess still hasn't uploaded them, so here are some I stole from itunes.

we're half awake in a fake empire )

Lastly, I wish my friends were more organised. I'm supposed to be going out in a couple of hours, but no one's quite sure where we're going or what time to meet. Fail. :(
Panic(!) hee
I'm seeing The National on Saturday! For free! :D iTunes has an annual festival-type thing where all these bands play at the Camden Roundhouse throughout the month of July, and the only way you can get tickets is by entering the competition. There are some fantastic bands playing this year including Florence + the Machine, Mumford & Sons, Phoenix, Biffy Clyro, Frank Turner and The XX, but The National was the band I really wanted to see. I didn't actually win the tickets (possibly because iTunes somehow know that I despise using them, and so have never purchased anything from there), but some kind soul gave me their tickets as they couldn't attend. \o/

I should probably find someone to go with, but right now I'm flailing quite a lot. :D:
Brian Fallon
THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM! They were absolutely amazing! I managed to get to the middle of the barrier and spent the whole show grinning like an idiot while screaming the words to every song. And I wasn't the only one. The crowd was insane, and at points were singing so loudly that we almost overpowered Brian Fallon's voice. The band obviously loved it because they couldn't stop smiling. And Brian really does have the best smile. *____* Gaslight performed pretty much all of my favourite songs along with a fantastic cover of "Baba O'Riley". Seriously, so good. And I got the setlist, which was just the perfect ending to a great night. :D

I'm ridiculously tired right now. I've mostly lost my voice, was on my feet for over five hours so my legs are aching, and my ribs hurt after being repeatedly crushed against the barrier. Totally worth it. \o/
